Red Light Benefits

conditions that may potentially benefit from red light therapy

Red & NIR light therapy has been extensively studied, published and peer reviewed.

It is widely accepted that Red & NIR light plays a significant role in reducing inflammation at a cellular level.  Inflammation is present in the majority of chronic conditions.

It has been widely demonstrated that consistent use of Red & NIR has fantastic benefits for overall skin appearance and feeling. Increasing collagen production, improving skin firmness, reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

It is also widely documented that Red & NIR light stimulates the mitochondria to produce more Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP).

When the mitochondria produce ATP at an optimum level, cellular processes, muscles, tissue and organs all get the energy they require to function optimally.  The brain and heart are both huge consumers of ATP.  Red and NIR light has the ability to stimulate mitochondrial function, increasing the cellular energy available, helping to reverse age related mitochondrial decline.  This has a rejuvenating effect as well as having a preventative effect.

Below are some medical conditions that may potentially benefit from Red & NIR Light Therapy by increasing cellular energy and/or by reducing internal and external inflammation:

Skin conditions:

Red light therapy has shown promising results in improving skin health and treating conditions like acne, psoriasis and eczema. Research has indicated that red light can also stimulate collagen production, which can improved skin texture, reduce wrinkles, repair damaged skin and promote a more youthful appearance.

Inflammation and swelling:

It can help regulate the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines and reduce the activity of inflammatory enzymes. Red light therapy may help reduce inflammation and swelling in  conditions such as tendinitis, bursitis, and other inflammatory disorders.

Wound healing:

Red and near-infrared light can promote the formation of new blood vessels and accelerate the healing of wounds and scaring. Beneficial for those recovering from surgery or injuries. It may also have antibacterial properties, reducing the risk of infection.

 Mood and Mental health:

Some studies suggest that red light therapy may have positive effects on mood, anxiety, and depression. Regular sessions may help improve mood and emotional well-being. It also helps regulate circadian rhythms and improve sleep quality.

Pain management:

People with mild to chronic pain with conditions like fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis or back pain may find relief through red light therapy due to the anti-inflammatory effects of the therapy. Regular sessions can help reduce pain levels and improve quality of life.

Joint disorders:

Red light therapy has been investigated for its potential to relieve symptoms of osteoarthritis and other joint disorders by reducing pain and inflammation. Near-infrared light penetrates deeper into tissues and may help alleviate joint pain and stiffness,

Compromised Immunity:

Red light therapy has been found to stimulate the production of white blood cells, which play a crucial role in fighting off infections and strengthening the immune system. Regular use may help improve overall immune function.

Neurological Conditions:

Near-infrared light is thought to stimulate nerve regeneration and improve nerve function.  Preliminary research indicates that this therapy could potentially benefit conditions like traumatic brain injury, stroke, Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease.

Since incorporating the red light therapy bed into my routine, I've experienced a significant reduction in the aches and pains that used to be a constant presence in my life.
